
Using Your Pepper MACE® Baton
The Pepper Mace Baton is intended to be aimed at the face. When activated, a cone-shaped cloud of Pepper Spray solution will be discharged approximately 5 feet from the unit. The Baton contains approximately six 1/2 second bursts. Avoid discharging your Pepper Mace Baton directly into the wind. If necessary, shield your face when discharging your unit.
Arrange your keys on the largest Split Ring. The smaller ring attaches to your Pepper Mace Baton.
Carry your Pepper Mace Baton wherever you go. When walking to or from your home, car or office, the Pepper Mace Baton conveniently carries your keys and places an effective means of personal safety in your hand.
Hold the Pepper Mace Baton in your strong hand with the gold acuator at your thumb. Release the black wrap-around safety with your thumb.
Move the Pepper Mace Baton to a level position with the acuator facing you. Place your thumb on the back of the actuator and aim the unit at the attacker's face. Enhance your grip by using both hands if needed.
Press the acuator forward with your thumb.
Release the actuator to stop discharging. Re-engage the safety of yor Baton by returning the black wrap-around locking clip to the locked position.
OPERATION:
- Disengage the safety with your thumb.
- Point at attacker's face.
- depress the actuator of the baton with your thumb in short one-half second bursts. A cone shaped cloud will discharge from the Dispersion Port.
- Stop discharging by releasing pressure on the acuator.
- Leave the area immediately. Go in opposite direction and summon help.
- Re-engage safety.
EFFECTS: Upon direct contact witht he eyes, respiratory system and mucous membranes, Pepper will cause eyes to slam shut, coughing, and an intense burning sensation to the skin. Symtoms should disappear in about 45 mminutes.
After use, you may wish to disassemble the Baton and rinse with soap and water to remove any remaining Pepper residue. Do not allow residue to contact eyes or skin as irritation will occur.
YOUR BATON IS RELOADABLE:
- To replace the Pepper Spray cartridge, carefully unscrew the acuator end of the Baton with the safety in the locked position.
- Remove the cartridge and dispose of it in accordance with local regulations.
- Install a new insert, Item Code 80361.
- Replace the acuator section of the Baton and secure tightly.
Safety: Keep your Pepper Mace Baton out of reach of children.
Storage: Do not store your Pepper Mace Baton in an environment where the temperature may exceed 120 degrees F (50 degrees C).such as an enclosed vehicle. Teh Pepper Spray cartridge may leak from over pressurization and fail to function prperly. Do not store unit in a cold environment under 32 degrees F (0 degrees C). This may cause depressurization and the loss of effective range.
EXPIRATION OF YOUR INSERT: Each baton has an expiration date marked on the packaging. After this date, the cartridge should be disposed of in accordance with the environmental regulations in your area. A new cartridge Model # 80361 can then be installed. Each Pepper Mace Baton is under pressure. Do not puncture or incinerate the Insert.
